Promoted Post BannerRising electronic producer and DJ Manuel Smit, performing under his alias Messenjā, dropped his powerful new EP Revenge via Swiss record label Bassfeature.

The two-track EP features different versions of the title single Revenge, a project Manuel Smit has been meticulously crafting for several weeks. Through repeated puzzling and mixing, he finally achieved the exact sound he envisioned. The track has already been pitched and is receiving very nice responses from playlist moderators, with playlist postings already scheduled.

Inspired by the often-underestimated issue of bullying in schools and among children, Revenge serves as a sonic tribute to those affected. It is something that can scar a person for the rest of their life. The song weaves a sarcastic narrative with a touch of fantasy, telling the thriller story of a girl who has been bullied and abused and later takes revenge on everyone involved – all delivered through a dark, gloomy techno banger.

Blending hardtechno, hardcore, and hardstyle, the EP continues Messenjā signature fusion of 90s hardcore bass kicks with modern innovation, cinematic atmospheres, and experimental rhythms.

At 39 years old and hailing from Groningen, Netherlands, Messenjā (Manuel Smit) began his musical path at age 8, experimenting on organ and keyboard to recreate radio melodies. The early 2000s rise of DJs like Tiesto and Armin van Buuren ignited his passion for trance and techno, with acts like Scooter pushing him deeper into harder styles. After years developing his craft as a hobby, he started releasing music over the past year. His works such as Together To The Dream, Ouija, I Am A Devil, Blackhole, Sakura, Yokai, Quantum Attack and many others demonstrate his musical talent for composing cinematic-like anthems techno and melodic hardcore which is mostly combined with Gospel choirs, orchestras and experimental rhythmic and builds. Drawing from Asian culture, movie soundtracks, and themes of daily life, love, societal struggles, space, and thrilling stories, he aims to craft a universal sound that connects globally.
