WHILE LOCKED UP FOR WEED IN A RUSSIAN JAIL, MUSIC PRODUCTION FREES HIS MINDJuly 29, 2017
Some people in the music business may feel ‘the struggle is real’ when it comes to setting up a music production studio. Think of all the neighbors that always yell to shut it down, the big financial investment it takes, being holed up in a tiny room all day just to finish another track and the lack of much of a social life.
But there’s always someone else who has it worse!
Meet AJ BELIK, he’s currently JAILED BY RUSSIAN AUTHORITIES for the possession and sale of weed.
And he’ll be there for another while..
Amazingly, he set up his music production studio in his jail cell which consists of very limited means.
“All the music here by this moment is produced in prison, even though I’m short on equipment, I try to make it sound nice. I will be released in 2018 and ready to tour.”
Some perks maybe true: his place is likely fairly sound proof (imagine all the concrete), there are no distractions and no bills to pay. In that sense he has a very clear focus on his music.
And it pays off!
AJ BELIK’S MUSIC PRODUCTION
AJ Belik WON a REMIX CONTEST organized by new label A BETTER SOUND MUSIC. Cyberluke & VinylFanatic – Regeneration (AJ Belik remix) will be released shortly together with another top notch music video. Looks like being stuck inside a few square metres has its benefits!
AJ Belik himself says he will be ready for a tour next year: “All the music here by this moment is produced in prison, even though I’m short on equipment I try to make it sound nice. I will be released in 2018 and ready to tour.”
Regeneration consists of a futuristic trip into broken beats & Drum & Bass. With funked up synth bass licks and 2 emcees on the beat, it’s another winner for the young label.
Lucas Satin aka Cyberluke is a busy bee. As the founder of tech startup Nanotrik, he and his team make and sell wearable devices for music and other purposes. But outside of his busy tech career, he fell in love with EDM and created a unique style.is his alias and he is very specific about his music. Originally he grew up with Eurodance which eventually evolved in the current wave of EDM. However, Cyberluke does not like repetitive tracks that are only based on a simple beat and bass.
